Description
We love the juicy, peppery reds made from Austria’s Blaufränkisch grape, and we were delighted when we discovered Tom Straka and his wines. He and his family farm 15 hectares of vines meticulously using exclusively organic methods in Burgenland, near the Hungarian border.

Tasting Notes

Straka make a very bright, fresh and juicy style of Blaufränkisch that really appeals to us, and even works brilliantly when served slightly chilled (12-14 degrees). Great by itself it is the kind of red that goes really well with a firm-fleshed white fish, as well as with pulled pork and spiced chicken. Extremely gluggable.
Victoria Moore - Daily Telegraph: 'an uplifting and juicy red, all blood and ripe cherries with a touch of spice and a refreshing edge. Try it chilled.'

Peter Richards MW: 'This is a juicy, lively, deliciously bittersweet and uplifting red from Austria. Ideal for everyday drinking or with Italian dishes like spaghetti bolognese, or just with some bangers and mash.'
