Description
The Douro, home of Port for centuries, is filled with stunning 'Quinta' or wine-growing estates. In recent years, these top estates have been turning their expertise towards crafting elegant white, and delicious red wines. The historic Quinta da Pedra Alta is one such producer. We were so blown-away by João Pires' winemaking skills, capturing the potential of still wines from this beautiful land, that we've added both their Branco and Tinto to our range.
Tasting Notes
A fruity yet structured and powerful red wine made from indigenous grapes: Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca and Touriga Nacional. Generously, laden with bramble fruits, plum and plentiful soft tannins, all lifted by an impressive streak of freshness.
Ideal with a slow-cooked stew, hearty sausages or smoked cheeses.
