Description
Growing grapes organically in rainy Bordeaux takes special kinds of people, and Christophe and Bénédicte Piat are the region’s leading practitioners. They craft dense, ultra-ripe, flavourful Merlot-based reds from bio-dynamically grown grapes and using as little sulphur as they can get away with.

Tasting Notes

This is a big wine, almost more Napa than Bordeaux, a dense, layered mouthful of rich Christmas-cakey spiced plum fruit, and some dark liquorice notes. Bordeaux’s 2016 vintage is one of the very best this century (so far!), so tuck in to this rewarding red. A perfect partner for roasted meats, especially beef, and also ace with the cheese board.
Victoria Moore - Daily Telegraph: 'A broad, rich merlot (not one drop of cabernet in here) from the edge of the Bordeaux appellation, close to Bergerac. This isn’t “claretty” in the cedar/pencil shavings/tannic sense of the word: it’s more fresh and luxuriously fruity. But it does have a tinge of the dried fruit guts you find in a St Émilion vintage.'
