Description
The Douro, home of Port for centuries, is filled with stunning 'Quinta' or wine-growing estates. In recent years, these top estates have been turning their expertise towards crafting elegant white and delicious red wines. The historic Quinta da Pedra Alta is one such producer. We were so blown-away by João Pires' winemaking skills, capturing the potential of still wines from this beautiful land, that we've added both their Branco and Tinto to our range.
Tasting Notes
Made from the region's noble white grapes Rabigato, Gouveio and Viosinho, this Branco is packed with nectarines and pithy lemon fruit and an almost lip-puckering acidity. It's also part barrel-aged, giving it a glorious texture on the palate.
Great with white fish and grilled seafood, but with the complexity to go superbly with roast pork.
